Senior Consultant Job Description
Our senior-level hires must have prior related work experience and management experience.
A degree in engineering, computer science or another "hard" science degree with
programming knowledge is a plus, but it is not required. Senior-level hires must
be able to adapt well to change, think on their toes and quickly learn new skills.
Our senior-level hires are responsible leading a team in designing, implementing
and delivering custom business solutions to our clients. They are involved in full
life-cycle projects and should be able to:
- Run requirements sessions
- Own and manage to completion individual tracts
- Drive solutions that are consistent with scope
- Work with project manager to create project plan
- Identify issues and risk, escalate when appropriate and close issues
- Manage a subset of project members
- Subject Matter Expert – Industry / Technical
- Transfer subject matter knowledge to a peer
- Be responsible for Project Delivery: Project Planning, Project Management, Business
Consulting
- Be accountable for success of Client Program/Projects
- Define and deliver Proposals for Account
- Define, maintain and execute on an account plan that is in line with our company
strategy
- Take financial responsibility for revenue/margin at the account
- Up-sell/Cross-sell additional work within an account
- Do Staff Development and Mentor junior resources
Senior Consultant Qualifications
- 3-5 years of professional experience
- Previous Management Consulting experience is a plus (1 to 5 years)
- Management or leadership experience
- Experience in project environment
- Technology experience
- Experience managing a project or a client account
- Quantitative/Analytical background (MBA, Math or Statistics Major, preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creative and entrepreneurial spirit
Our typical projects require 50% - 70% travel. A valid driver's license and motor vehicle are required since a majority of projects also require local travel.
