Meet An Arcadian: Interns 2016

We were lucky to have a great group of interns join us here at Arcadia this summer — here’s a little bit about their experience in their own words.

Brendan – Operations

As an Analytics Intern at Arcadia, I completed a business operations process improvement project over the span of a 10-week internship. Lean process improvement techniques were used to identify root cause issues, suggest changes to the existing operations, and ultimately verify that these changes would have long-lasting, positive effects on the company’s core product offering. For one of my operational changes, I introduced a forecasting tool that utilizes data mining techniques and is capable of predicting the duration between key milestones in Arcadia’s Connector Implementation lifecycle. By being able to accurately predict these durations, our internal scheduling between teams and external scheduling with clients has become more accurate and reliable.

Working at Arcadia was an incredible experience for me. The company has the market reach to have a significant impact on America’s healthcare system, yet it was accessible enough internally for me to work alongside multiple teams and senior level management on a daily basis. From my very first day, I was blown away at how amazing the other employees were. Everyone in the company is exceptionally smart, intellectually curious, and passionate about fixing our country’s healthcare system – all of which exemplify what it means to be an ‘Arcadian’.

Tori – Marketing

This summer I was fortunate enough to work in the marketing department at Arcadia. During my internship I was involved in supporting external communication, marketing collateral, and event planning. It was very evident to me how important client communication and client satisfaction is to Arcadia. I learned how important the role marketing plays in the servicing of clients. My internship reinforced my interest in pursuing a marketing career when I graduate. I can’t thank my managers enough for what they have taught me this summer. Arcadia is such a friendly, collaborative, fast growing company that was a joy to work for.

Nick – Finance

My summer working in the Finance department at Arcadia has been a fantastic experience. Working closely with the finance team, I was able to take on challenging projects that allowed me to apply the skills and concepts I learned in the classroom and further my knowledge in the field of accounting and finance. Throughout my time here, I worked on various projects which included assisting with audits, posting journal entries, and helping out with accounts payable and receivable. What I enjoyed most about working here at Arcadia were the friendly people and laid back atmosphere of the workplace. I gained a lot from my time here this summer and am glad to have had the opportunity to join the Arcadia team.

Nick is a rising Senior at Bentley University
